About this app

ZHD Gateway provides authenticated Zebis ZHD subscribers with access to the ZHD Home Screen and related membership services on Android TV devices (Zebis ZHD).

Core Features

• Verifies the subscriber’s account using Firebase Authentication.

AccessibilityService API Use

Reliable Home-button handling and remote-control shortcuts are core features of ZHD Gateway. To provide these features, ZHD Gateway uses Android’s AccessibilityService API.

When the user enables “ZHD Gateway Home Override,” the service can detect:

• Remote-control button presses.

• The package and activity name of the app currently displayed when an Android window changes, including while ZHD Gateway is not visible.

This information is used only to:

• Return the device to ZHD Gateway when the Home button is pressed or the stock Android TV launcher appears.

• Perform the action assigned to a remote button, such as opening Android Settings, navigating Back, displaying the system power menu, or opening a configured streaming app.

The service follows fixed, user-initiated button mappings. It does not autonomously plan or perform unrelated actions.

Privacy and User Control

ZHD Gateway does not use the AccessibilityService API to read or capture screen content, text entered by the user, passwords, messages, photos, audio, contacts, or other personal content.

Accessibility information is processed only on the device. It is not transmitted, sold, or shared with Zebis or third parties and is not used for advertising, analytics, or marketing.

Before Android Accessibility Settings opens, ZHD Gateway displays an in-app disclosure explaining the service and asks the user to select “Agree and Continue” or “Not Now.” The user must then manually enable the service in Android Settings.

ZHD Gateway does not change system settings without the user’s permission, bypass Android privacy controls, or prevent the user from disabling the service or uninstalling the app. The service can be disabled at any time through Android Accessibility Settings.

ZHD Gateway is an Android TV launcher and remote-control utility. It is not intended or represented as an accessibility tool for people with disabilities.
