About this app

This app provides access to ZEF Energy's network of public chargers, allowing drivers to find a charger, start/stop a charging session and pay for their session costs in a secure and simple way.

It also provides drivers with a ZEFNET-enabled charger in their home a way to monitor and control its usage. If your charger is participating in a utility program which restrict charging at certain times, this app provides the ability to override some program restrictions in order to charge in an emergency.

The ZEF app is a little un-polished. I was able to charge my car, but it wasn't as smooth as it should have been. The password field wasn't recognized as a password to the Google password manager, so it wouldn't auto fill. You need a minimum of $5 on your account when starting a charge. You can't add funds during a charge to make it charge longer, it stopped charging at my original balance. You have to add funds =>$1, when I tried adding just 13¢ the payment screen just spun.

The app is ok ish. But the customer service is absolutely horrible. I submitted a problem to them (the same one) many times and they have not resolved it after 6 months. pretty bad. They kept closing the ticket and saying the case was resolved when it wasn't.

I'm new to EVs but Zef chargers in my area have worked perfectly. I love their destination chargers (e.g., work & movie theaters). I think the old app reviews are outdated because the app works fine for me too. I keep adding $ in-app because I know I'll continue using the local chargers & the app allows for refunding my balance anytime. Only 4 stars because a passwordless account option would be nice; if I can reset by email, why not use an emailed code instead to mitigate poorly timed log-out.
