About this game

Morse Tap is a Morse code trainer disguised as a tap-back puzzle — built for the watch on your wrist. The watch buzzes a short word in Morse on your skin. You tap it back. Match the pattern bit-for-bit. One mistake ends the run. Survive as many rounds as you can.

If you don't know Morse, you'll start learning it within five minutes. The early rounds show you the pattern visually as it buzzes — so each short tap (dit) and long press (dah) you copy is also lining up with something you can SEE. Repetition does the rest. By round eight or so, common words like HELP, HELLO, LOVE, SOS, SMILE, and YES will start to feel obvious in Morse.

HOW IT WORKS

• Listen — the watch buzzes the morse for a short word. Screen shows the word in plain English so you know what's being encoded.
• Tap it back — short tap = dit, long press (hold) = dah. Each tap echoes a haptic at the same length so you can feel what you sent.
• Match = next round, one bit longer.
• Mismatch = OUT. Your round number is your score.

EASY ROUNDS (1-8)

Two- and three-letter words. The morse pattern is visible on screen both while listening and tapping. Bit-level confirmation (the dots fill in green as you nail each one). Generous timing.

HARD ROUNDS (9+)

Four- and five-letter words. The pattern disappears — only the word text is shown. The watch slows playback so you can feel each dit and dah clearly without the visual aid. As you correctly tap all the bits for a letter, that letter turns green. The active letter glows yellow.

The playback speeds up by ~6ms per hard round, so by round 19 you're tapping at near real-Morse cadence.

WORDS YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY WANT TO KNOW IN MORSE

The word lists are picked for usefulness and warmth, not flashiness:

• 2-letter: HI, OK, NO, YES, ME, MY, US, WE, AT, BE…
• 3-letter: SOS, HEY, RUN, SUN, SKY, SEA, YES, YOU, THE, NEW…
• 4-letter: HELP, HOPE, LOVE, KIND, SAFE, GOOD, NICE, STAR…
• 5-letter: HELLO, HAPPY, HEART, SMILE, MUSIC, PEACE, WORLD…

Pull this off enough times and you've genuinely learned the Morse for SOS, HELP, HELLO, LOVE, and a dozen other words you could actually tap to a friend on their wrist someday.

FEATURES

• Two difficulty tiers: easy with pattern shown, hard with pattern hidden + letter-by-letter feedback
• Playback speed ramps from learner-pace to real Morse cadence
• Curated word lists you might genuinely want to know in Morse
• Tap echoes — feel what bit you sent before the next one
• Persistent best-round record
• Sessions are short — most runs end inside 90 seconds
• Standalone Wear OS app — runs without your phone
• Optimized for round Wear OS 3+ displays (tested on Pixel Watch)
• 100% offline, no internet permission requested
• No ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics, no tracking
• No third-party SDKs of any kind

CONTROLS

• Tap anywhere = dit
• Press-and-hold (~200ms+) = dah
• Tap on briefing / cracked / out screens to advance

TIPS

• In the early rounds, watch the pattern light up as it buzzes. Your brain will start mapping "long buzz" to "dah" automatically.
• Press deliberately. Releasing within ~180ms registers as a dit; longer is a dah. Most mis-taps are dits you held too long.
• In hard mode the pattern is gone, but the playback is slower — trust the rhythm you've been learning.
• SOS is …—— (dit-dit-dit dah-dah-dah dit-dit-dit). Easiest 3-letter word in the game.
