How Scour protects you:

Real-Time Threat Detection : Scour identifies phishing sites and dangerous links before they are opened — protecting you from fraud, credential theft, and malicious websites.
Identity Monitoring : Get alerted when your personal information appears in a data breach so you can act fast — change passwords, lock accounts, and stay ahead of threats.
Email Protection : Scour scans the links, when you open an email, in your inbox automatically, flagging suspicious URLs before you open them.
Device Cleanup : Scan your device for duplicate images and videos. Reduce your digital footprint and remove files that could put your personal data at risk.
Secure VPN: Encrypt your connection and hide your IP address on any network, so your browsing stays private on public Wi-Fi and beyond — a critical layer of privacy alongside Scour's other protections.

Accessibility Permission :
Scour uses Android's Accessibility Service API solely to help protect you from unsafe links while you browse.
When enabled, the app reads the URL currently displayed in your browser and checks it against an on-device database of known phishing and suspicious websites. If a match is found, Scour alerts you before you proceed.
Scour does not collect, transmit, or store personal data, keystrokes, or any sensitive information through this permission. This feature is opt-in and only activates after you explicitly grant Accessibility access.

VPN Permission (VPNService):
Scour uses Android's VPNService API to power its built-in VPN, which encrypts your device's internet traffic and routes it through a secure, private tunnel. When enabled, this permission allows Scour to establish a local VPN connection on your device so your traffic can be encrypted before it leaves your network. Scour does not use this permission to monitor, log, or sell your browsing activity. This feature is opt-in and only activates after you explicitly grant VPN access. Use of the VPN is subject to Scour's privacy policy, linked on the app's Play Store listing.

Terrible. only thing this app is is a list of how to's. How to set up data deletion through your phones already included functions... plus it sucks when deleting duplicate videos or photos. I deliberately left duplicate videos and it failed to even mention that I had _ number of them, then it said No duplicate videos on this device. No duplicate photos on device. On top of that, it doesn't provide anything that my Bitdefinder app doesn't already provide me and at less cost.
