About this app

Zerocam 2.0:Ā Ā Camera for Real Photos.

No AI Overprocessing.

Most smartphone cameras today use aggressive AI to over-sharpen your photos, resulting in a flat, artificial look.

Zerocam 2.0 strips away the digital makeup.

We provide a clean, high-quality image pipeline that captures life exactly as you see it. No fake HDR, no "beauty" filters, and zero over-processing.

Why Zerocam?

While most camera apps add more controls and AI enhancements, Zerocam removes distractions and focuses on the soul of photography:

- A natural, distortion-free look. Say goodbye to weird halos around buildings and skin that looks like plastic.
- Pure simplicity. No settings to tweak. No menus to get lost in. Open the app and shoot.
- Full hardware potential. Get maximum from your sensor and lens.

What’s New in 2.0?

- Native Lens Support (Beta). Easily switch between Wide, Ultra-Wide, and Telephoto. (Availability depends on the manufacturer’s camera API support. Please let us know if it doesn’t work on your device.
- Zero Looks (Natural Filters). Subtle, film-inspired color profiles that apply in real-time. These aren't heavy "filtersā€. They are professional color grades, developed carefully every month.
- Multi-Exposure Mode. Create artistic shots by merging two frames into one, instantly.
- Foldable Optimized (Beta). A redesigned interface that feels native whether your phone is open, closed, or half-flexed.
- Pro-Grade RAW & JPG. A rebuilt image pipeline delivers cleaner tones and more reliable RAW files, giving you greater flexibility in post-production.

I enjoy using Zerocam and appreciate its stance on just being an unprocessed point-and-shoot style camera (and $8/year honestly seems pretty reasonable to me), but I'm curious: If the app presents a photo as unprocessed and my main sensor is 50MP, how is the photo only 12MP? API limitation, or something else? Is it binning the pixels? (I know things but am not technical so just curious!) I love how the double-exposure feature seems filmic and forces thoughtful use. Would love B&W Looks/options!

Great question. On most phones the camera API hands third-party apps the binned 12MP stream rather than the full sensor readout - not our choice. B&W Looks are on the list. Latest version adds lens selection and the front camera. We're a small indie team, so ratings under 5 stars sting.

RAW support added finally and the reworked JPEG mode has been a great update. For anyone looking to use their phone camera more like a traditional camera (no auto hdr, stitching together multiple shots into 1, etc) and cut out 95% of the computational photography, this is the app for you. If you sucked in photography before this app launched, then this won't change that for you I'm afraid.

RAW is supported now - full raw photography, alongside the lens selector and selfie mode. We've also moved to fair pricing by country. We're a small indie team of two people, and 5-star ratings really matter to us.

I bumped this from 2 to 3 stars because the app does work, and it's got an easy interface. But it's still neither here nor there. The whole point of avoiding pre-processing is to give the user - not the camera - control over the image. But then this camera also gives no manual control over focus, ISO, or shutter speed. So you get the worst of both worlds, a point-and-shoot camera that decides all these settings for you, while stripping out things like noise reduction.

Hi Jon, we did not include manual controls on purpose, we wanted to build a minimalistic experience, point-and-shoot, that's the whole point of the app. We are thinking though in adding a PRO mode that would allow all that settings you mention. In the meantime, it would be great if you could support us with a better rating to keep us motivated šŸ™šŸ»

What’s new

Stability update.
• Fixed a crash when opening your photo right after shooting
• Fixed a crash on devices where the camera failed to start
• Fixed an out-of-memory crash when saving RAW photos on some devices
• A failed capture now tells you, instead of leaving the preview button stuck
Nothing changed in the camera, the looks, or your photos.
