Fread is a comprehensive Microblog client that currently supports Mastodon, Bluesky Pixelfed and RSS, with plans to add support for more protocols in the future🌴.

✅Now, Fread supports almost all the functions of Mastodon/Bluesky and is already a complete Mastodon/Bluesky client. It also supports the RSS protocol, so you can subscribe to your favorite blogs through the RSS protocol.

✅In addition, Fread also supports mixed feed, you can create a mixed feed that includes both Mastodon/Bluesky content and RSS content.

✅ Fread also provides good support for multiple accounts and multiple servers. You no longer need to switch between different accounts and servers in a complicated way, and you don't need to register an account before you can browse the content of other servers.

Ratings and reviews

Bluesky works as you'd expect. I can't for the life of me understand how to log into Mastodon. It looks like servers are just read-only? Unless I am missing something, which seems to be the case based on the images on the listing, this is kind of useless for me. I guess I would recommend a better onboarding for us uncs. Edit: Ok now it triggered the sign-in screen. so I upped my rating. Possible bug I guess. Looks good so far otherwise.

I wanted to like this app, but found several problems. Major problems: When I switch to this app from another, it crashes. The "Local", "Public", & "Posts" feeds never load and always show "Network Error/Unknown Error/Try Again". Minor problems: The reply, boost, & like buttons are in a strange order. There's no reminder for missing alt text on images. The editor prevents my keyboard from going to upper case letters at the beginning of new sentences. There may be more problems, too.

Honestly makes my feed look clean and modern. I love how I can add accounts from multiple of my socials, too.
