I pointed it at the sky during a storm with frequent clear lightning with both default and the maximum sensitivity, and then the quadrants thing. Not a single capture, but I did get a bunch of plain sky photos. Very disappointing, got wet for nothing. edit: almost forgot to mention the shady thousand or so cookies you're expected to swallow. So it wants to spy on you AND doesn't do the job.

Thank you for your feedback! We do not collect any data from you whatsoever, which is verified by Google. Data being collected are actually requested & collected by Google themselves through Google AdMob and other analytics tools of their own. If you can mail us your stormy environment & phone model, we can improve the algorithm even more! Thanks!

Seems to be a good app at catching that lightning shot. It saves several images when the lightning is detected. the images appear to be only 640 x480 resolution and I don't see any way to change that. Due to the low resolution of images I'll probably stick to recording 8k and pulling frames manually.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We use a different technology to be able to capture too many frames in milliseconds so that is why it is too hard for us to be able to deliver the "actual" camera ratio/resolution. We plan to provide another capturing method but that would consume much more CPU/RAM than our current technology. Thanks!

Hello, I've rated 5 stars to help out with your app in google Play, but I haven't used it in a thunder/lightning situation. I have a few questions: - Is it possible to change the camera viewing angle to a wide angle? - is it possible to adjust and lock the camera exposure compensation (EV +- 1, 2,5...)? - what the capture response delay time? how fast does it take the picture when a detection is detected? - add optional audio signal when their is a capture (like on Blitzortung thunder map)?

- Wide angle option is a good idea! Will do! - Camera exposure compensation; not at the moment, but once again a nice feature request! - Capture response/detection all rely on the device's hardware power, but optimized enough for really old Androids as well, will bring more power demanding methods in future. - Audio, good idea! Thank you so much!

What’s new

- Captured image ratio is now default to 16:9 (4:3 if 16:9 is not possible for your device, may also present option to set it back to 4:3)
- Captured image quality improved
- Gallery UX improved
