DEPTH AND COVERAGE GUIDANCE

Two to three inches for mulch beds. Four inches of compacted base for a patio, six to eight for vehicle traffic. One inch of bedding sand under pavers. One cubic yard covers 324 square feet at one inch, 108 at three inches, 81 at four inches. The reference section keeps the numbers you always forget.
