Unlike other chat apps, Zulip lets you read and respond to every message in context, no matter when it was sent. Maintain your focus and then catch up on your own time, reading the topics you care about, and skimming or skipping the rest.

Another "update" that breaks core functionality. Why? How? No search, read receipts not working, very slow message loading. No search! This is insane! I actually went to using zulip on my web app in desktop mode just to find a message. Edit - still bad after "updates". Can only search main threads, read receipts are very odd, messages aren't often marked as read. Can't easily reply to a channel, instead it defaults to "general chat". I could go on, overall a bad experience.

This app is ugly and unwieldy. Your community better be reasonably knowledgeable in navigating obtuse systems because Zulip does not hold your hand. I really don't think this is ready for prime time unless you absolutely must have your own server at any cost.

This app is the worst that is missing huge chunks of functionality from what the browser version has. it is horrible to navigate and try to type messages as the chat window constantly shoots up over the place you want to chat against. the ability to see the topics on a channel is horrible and clicky. literally spent about 5 hours setting this app up on my trueNas, thought it looked good, but then this app kills all home of using this as a replacement for slack. home nav MUST be always there.
