About this app

We present visitors to the Czech and Saxon parts of the Ore Mountains in a unique way with important historical events connected with this region. With this application you can play individual visualizations directly in the field. You will travel through time and learn a lot of interesting about the history behind the scene of a particular historical event, in the form of video, but also using advanced augmented reality and virtual reality technologies using a unique combination of live actors and hand-painted backgrounds. The application was created in kind collaboration with talented people directly from the Ore Mountains and with the support of the EU.
As part of the project, a total of 39 visualizations were created in the Ore Mountains. We created this application to be not only their player, but also to contain important information about individual places and routes within which you will best enjoy historical stories. The towns and villages of Abertamy, Annaberg-Buchholz, Boží dar, Breitenbrunn, Jáchymov, Loučná pod Klínovcem and Ostrov collaborated on the creation of the application. In their vicinity, we have created hiking trails that will take you to the most interesting things that the Ore Mountains can offer. We know that a day march is not always suitable. Sometimes, on the other hand, you will want to do a hike for the whole weekend. For this reason, the routes are of different lengths and of varying difficulty.
And what will you experience on these routes? You will learn, for example, about the origin of the currency from which the US dollar was named, you will hear the story of scientist Marie Curie, who visited the area, take a picture with the famous singer Anton Gunther, look at the medieval mint, see the situation in the turbulent World War II border, but and much more.
After the first playback at a given location, you can play the visualizations anywhere. Just be careful: The application is data intensive, we recommend downloading the content to WiFi.
