Screen time you can't undo on your own.

Most screen time apps have one flaw: you can turn them off.
A lock you can open yourself isn't a lock. It's a reminder.

Vouch is different. When your time runs out, only a friend can give you more.
There is no self-unlock button. We left it out on purpose.


HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick the apps you want to cut down on, and set a daily limit
2. Connect with a friend using a six-character code
3. When your time runs out, the app locks
4. Need more? Ask your friend - how many minutes, and why
5. If they say yes, that much opens up


TWO WAYS TO LOCK

- Daily limit. Thirty minutes of Instagram a day. When it's used up, it locks.
- Locked hours. From 11pm to 7am, those apps simply don't open.

You can group several apps under a single limit.


WHAT YOUR FRIEND SEES

Three things only: who, how many minutes, and why.
We don't tell them which app you were using.

Your friends can also see if Vouch stops running on your phone. This isn't
silent surveillance - it's the whole promise. The app tells you so before it
asks for a single permission.


WHAT WE DON'T DO

- No ads
- We don't sell your data
- No analytics, no tracking SDKs
- We never see what you do inside your apps. Only how long.


YOUR FRIEND NEEDS VOUCH TOO

Approvals happen in your friend's app, so pick at least one person to do this
with. If nobody answers, you stay locked until midnight - so two friends are
better than one.


PERMISSIONS

- Usage access, to measure how long you've used each app
- Display over other apps, to cover an app that's over its limit
- Notifications, for time warnings and your friend's replies
- Device admin (optional), to ask once more before the app is deleted

Every permission is used only to keep the lock honest.


If cutting down hasn't worked on your own, try putting a person in the way.
