About this app

Wabe is a small hive-card app I started building as a beginner beekeeper, hoping a clean log would give me the structure
and routine I was still missing. The spreadsheets and clipboards I tried never quite worked standing at the hives with
sticky gloves.

What an inspection captures: a photo, the weather (pulled automatically from Open-Meteo using your location), how many
boxes the colony is sitting on, and the status of every frame — open or capped brood, eggs, honey, pollen, foundation,
starter strip, drone frame, queen cell, empty drawn. Plus the usual quick fields: queen seen, queen cells, temperament,
varroa count, actions, a note.

Open a hive later and you get the full history. Past inspections are read-only, so you can scroll back through the season
without worrying about an accidental edit.

Apiaries and hives are unlimited. When a colony is gone (swarmed off, combined, died), you can archive it. It drops out of
the active list but the history stays.

No ads. No tracking. No cloud. No account. Your data lives only on your phone. The only network request Wabe makes is the
weather lookup at Open-Meteo, and only your coordinates are sent. No personally identifying data.

Available in German and English. Light and dark theme. Pixel-art icons because I wanted something I could read at a glance.

What’s new

• NFC tags: stick a tag on a hive, link it in the app — at the apiary, tap your phone to it and you're right at that hive's records.
• Apiary overview reworked: status right on the hive, filter by "Due" and "Warning".
• Inspection history now as cards with photo preview and status at a glance.
• Hive tiles show the latest inspection photo.
• Notifications on iOS more reliable.
