About this app
ZeSI mobile is a free app for verifying visual digital seals (VDS) on German administrative documents. Visual digital seals (VDS) are used to protect information and guarantee its authenticity. ZeSI mobile verifies barcodes in the form of QR and Data Matrix (DMC) codes in accordance with BSI TR-03171 (non-governmental administrative documents) and BSI TR-03137-1 (governmental administrative documents). ZeSI mobile is the mobile VDS verification component of the overall "Central Seal Infrastructure" (ZeSI) system of Bundesdruckerei GmbH.
This version supports the following VDS: Official registration certificate, certificate of good conduct, extended certificate of good conduct, European certificate of good conduct, passport address change sticker, and identity card address change sticker.
To verify the administrative document, scan the visual digital seal (VDS). Then compare the app's verification result with the original data on the document. The check always takes place locally on your device – no data is exchanged and your check results are not stored. ZeSI mobile is optimized for use on smartphones. Display issues may occur on tablets. ZeSI mobile is bilingual (German/English) and accessible according to BITV 2.0 and EU Directive 2016/2102.
