About this app

With this app you can explore the heart of Billerbeck on your own. As a virtual city guide, you have two geese at your side, which come to life using a camera function and augmented reality. The geese guide you through the historic old town of Billerbeck via a GPS signal.
In 10 stations you will get to know the most important sights of the Billerbeck town center interactively. Along the way, you will always receive information on particularly interesting points. Another highlight: Fantastic 360 ° photos of the interior of Ludgerus Cathedral, Johanniskirche and Kolvenburg. A city map with the route and marked goose tracks on your way give you additional orientation.
Why are our virtual city guides just two geese? You will find geese again and again in Billerbeck's cityscape. Legend has it that Saint Ludgerus found a source in Billerbeck during a drought with the help of geese.
We hope that you will also make some exciting discoveries with our geese and enjoy your tour through the small streets and alleys.
Would you like to keep your memories of the special city tour in Billerbeck? Then use our digital postcard template - also included in the free app!

Technical advice:
The camera and geo-localization (GPS) must be activated for the virtual city tour. Your data will only be used to run the app and will not be passed on to third parties.
For a smooth experience, here are a few tips to help you prepare:
1. We recommend downloading the app before you want to start the tour, preferably where WiFi is available.
2. Since permanent GPS bearing is required, we recommend starting the tour with a fully charged battery.
3. Turn off Bluetooth
4. If possible, close all background apps.

In order to be able to navigate virtually with the geese, your mobile device must support ARCore. You can check whether your device supports this function at this link:
https://developers.google.com/ar/devices?hl=nb

In addition, the "Google Play Services for AR" must be installed:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.core

Should you not be able to use the goose navigation, the information about the stations and the 360 ° recordings are available to you. You can still do the tour "on your own". We then recommend that you download the flyer for the app as additional information about the route: www.billerbeck-muensterland.de
