The app aggregates reports from over 80 media outlets in German-speaking countries and their neighboring countries into topic clusters. For each topic, you can see at a glance who is reporting on it, how the coverage is distributed across the political spectrum, and which side is currently silent.
WHAT THE APP SHOWS
• One topic, all perspectives
Each story aggregates reports from various media outlets and sorts them on a left-center-right axis. Three summaries show how the same event is being told from different perspectives.
• Blind spots
If a topic is reported almost exclusively from one political direction, Blickwinkel explicitly highlights this. These are precisely the gaps you never see when reading the news normally.
• The radar
A 3D world map with all the located stories. Each marker, displayed as a ring, shows how the coverage of this event is distributed across the spectrum.
• Transparent Methodology
The app fully explains how the ratings are determined. Every source
has a transparent rating. If you believe a rating is incorrect, you can
report it—every decision is publicly documented with its justification.
• No Full Texts, Always Link to Source
The app displays headlines, short summaries, and its own classification. Every click
leads to the original article on the website of the publication that wrote it.
NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED
No registration or email address is required for normal use.
No ad tracking. The app works from the first launch.

Those who regularly use the classification can unlock Pro:
• Time periods up to 90 days instead of 7
• Push notifications for blind spots on your topics
• Topic watchlist
• Filter by source type
• Bias drift: how reporting shifts over weeks
• Export of individual story segments as images
Subscriptions renew automatically and can be canceled at any time in the Google Play settings.
