About this app

BR audio description

The BR audio description app enables more inclusion and offers people with and without visual impairment a communal television experience. The app brings audio description for selected programs on BR television directly to your smartphone. You can use audio description individually and e.g. Playback via headphones while others in the room hear the normal broadcast sound on a suitable Smart TV.

The BR audio description app at a glance

Features

& bull; Use audio tracks individually on the mobile device (smartphone / tablet)

& bull; Lip-synchronous playback of audio tracks that are available for selection:

- Audio description premixed with the broadcast sound (AD mix)

- Pure audio description "only commentary" (AD-pure)

- Normal transmission tone (e.g. for individual volume selection)

& bull; Coupling of the smart TV device and mobile device (via the BR start bar)

Requirements

& bull; TV (Smart TV) with HbbTV 2

& bull; Internet connection to the TV.

& bull; Satellite reception

& bull; The mobile device is in the same home network as the smart TV device (usually WiFi).

Programs

The audio description is currently available via the app for BR television for the Friday evening series "Hubert and Staller" from 8:15 pm.
