Know & Grow is a joint project of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and SRH University Heidelberg, Berlin Campus. The goal is to develop age-appropriate information and educational materials for children and adolescents with rare metabolic diseases and their families. Since there are currently few child-friendly materials available for these complex diseases, the project supports affected families in communicating the diseases and their treatment in an understandable way.

As part of a pilot project, the materials are being developed in close collaboration with those affected and experts and will initially be implemented in Berlin. After successful testing, they will be made available nationwide and internationally. Know & Grow thus makes an important contribution to health literacy and the independent management of rare chronic diseases in childhood and adolescence.
