The scripting language Python is one of the most popular and popular programming languages of our time. It is by no means new, but has been available for 30 years. The great demand is due to the emergence of new fields of application such as data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Although these topics are not entirely new either, they are opening up to a much broader range of users thanks to new approaches and frameworks.
This course is aimed at the ambitious beginner in programming.
The course teaches the basics and elements of Python as well as solutions for typical practical tasks. After a detailed presentation of the Python language elements and their application, the course is dedicated to the creation of functions and modules. Object-oriented programming (OOP) also gives you an insight into advanced programming concepts and how errors and exceptions are handled. Throughout the course, you will apply what you have learned to a course project.
The written exam can be taken online or at a campus location of the FernUniversität Hagen of your choice. If you pass the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have the ECTS points they have earned certified for a Certificate of Basic Studies.
