Furdy mini is Furdy's task planning feature, available as a separate, free app. It does not include METACOM symbols but works exclusively with user-created photos.
With the task planning feature, photos are taken and annotated with instructions. The instructions can be text or a self-recorded voice message. This allows complex tasks to be broken down into individual, easy-to-understand steps. For example, to cook a meal, the following steps would be: "Fill 2 liters of water into the pot," "Place the pot on the stove," "Add a pinch of salt to the water," "Set the stove to 6," etc. For each step, the user sees the corresponding image and hears the corresponding voice prompt.
Instructions:
Access the admin menu via the button in the upper left corner.
Create your cards for the desired task plan. (Create new cards)
Create the task plan (Create new task plan). To do this, select all the cards that belong to this plan and click the save button in the upper right corner. Now you have the option to sort the cards (press and hold) or remove individual cards (slide them sideways).
Once you have saved the work plan, you can exit the admin menu and click the start button to begin. In the upper left corner, select the desired plan and click 'Start' when you're ready. The first card will appear, and the corresponding voice output will play. Once this step is completed, click the green checkmark to proceed to the next step.
This function allows you to create instructions for any task. From tying shoes and cooking pasta to explaining step-by-step to Grandma which remote control to use to turn on which device so she can finally watch TV without any problems :-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FURDY was developed through a collaboration between the "Barrier-Free Systems" program at Frankfurt University and the Day Care Center for People with Autism in Lower Franconia (TAU). Through continuous contact and close consultation with the caregivers employed there, and regular testing phases of the application, it was adapted to the needs of the caregivers and, of course, the clients as much as possible. During development, it became clear that the increasing complexity of the app also broadened its range of applications. Thus, the app is no longer suitable only for people with autism spectrum disorder.
