The trafficpilot combines turn-by-turn navigation and a green wave assistant, usable for bicycles and cars, on smartphones, and also with Android Auto.
trafficpilot offers turn-by-turn navigation with an integrated green wave assistant.
The navigation is based on comprehensive OpenStreetMap maps and supports step-by-step navigation to the desired destination in car or bicycle mode, with a 3D map and navigation instructions displayed both visually and as voice prompts. On a smartphone, in addition to the 3D map, a 2D overview map and a prediction mode are available, which displays only the green wave assistant for the next traffic light.
In supported areas, the green wave assistant uses GPS location and integrated map data to detect which traffic light the driver is approaching and indicates whether the light will be green or red at the current speed. A red-green color-coded display visualizes this information: A green area means the light is clear, a red area indicates a likely stop. Based on the color coding on your phone's screen, you can assess whether you might need to adjust your speed to pass the traffic light when it turns green.
The "Time-To-Green" display is also helpful:
When you're stopped at a red light, the app shows the remaining time until the next green phase. A voice prompt announces this a few seconds before the light changes – a feature that not only enhances driving comfort but also keeps your attention on the road.
Android Auto integration allows you to display navigation and the Green Wave Assist (GLOSA) on your vehicle's display.
