About this app

With the Goethe Institute's app “SMARTfortbildung” teachers of German as a foreign language (DaF) can expand their professional competence in dealing with digital media. The app is intended to make the use of digital media in teaching easier, both from a technical and methodological and didactic point of view.

In the app you will find theoretical considerations on the use of digital media in general (“Digital Teaching” module) and modules for planning and designing German as a foreign language lessons with a view to developing certain linguistic skills (“Written production” module, “Oral interaction” module , “Vocabulary” module, “Structures” module).
To make it easier for you to use the mobile app when preparing lessons, the app contains a glossary of the external digital media used - with short descriptions of their options and recommendations for use in the German as a foreign language context - and a selection of ready-made teaching sequences.
