The GreenDot app offers users the opportunity to find out about the origin of food in relation to the "Halal" principle in Islam:
"O people, eat what is permitted and good / pure on earth." Sura 2 verse 168
to inform.
Consumers have the option of using the app to find out about the offers from so-called "halal" providers in your area and nationwide.
The app itself does not give a legal view or opinion about whether and how the companies listed there are actually "Halal" compliant. It is only intended as a decision-making aid for people with "Halal" sensitivity, by enabling them to form their own picture and opinion about "Halal" conformity by providing information on the origin and relation of the food.
Generally accepted procedures and processes as well as regulatory reviews of so-called "HALAL" certifications are not available. Consumers and entrepreneurs who want to consume or distribute "Halal" food are very often reliant on their own research or on unsupported indications of origin and information.
The "Halal" food app wants to contribute to greater transparency in this area. Entrepreneurs therefore have the additional option of registering via the app and uploading proof of origin (invoices, delivery notes, etc.) using the app, which are published via the app.
Overall, the app would also like to increase the awareness of Muslim consumers on the subject of "Clean Food", which is mentioned in the above. Verse under "allowed and good / pure" is created. This requirement is understood by the association as an order to question the ethical and sustainable side ("tayyiben") of the food in addition to the obligation to adhere to certain specifications regarding the type of manufacture ("halal").
