HUK-COBURG rewards you with savings of up to 30% on your car insurance premiums (third-party liability and comprehensive) – simply by driving safely and proactively.

After you've signed up for a telematics policy with HUK-COBURG or HUK24 and registered in the "My Car" app, you'll receive your telematics sensor free of charge. While your smartphone records your journeys, the sensor analyzes your acceleration, braking, steering, and speed to calculate your overall driving score. The safer and more proactive your driving, the higher your overall driving score and, consequently, your individual bonus for the next insurance year.

Ratings and reviews

The app sensitivity is really dangerous. It encourages one to rather cross a red light than to reduce the speed a bit (LITERALLY a bit) harsher than normal because at the end of your trip, you see a huge drop in your bonus. Overall a good bonus is tremendously hard to get and easy to loose. I am not sure if the app has been tested by qualified drivers in roads where they haven't driven there before. I am eager to see their bonuses!!!

Driving to collect points makes you a dangerously slow driver on the road. I managed to get more points in a month and the app started penalizing me with 0 points for no reason to keep the score low as possible. No English mutation. Tracking my phone's location 24/7 is really unnecessary, it should only be tracked when the telematics device is within range of the phone. The app is well designed and works reliably, overall absolute garbage for probably only collecting and selling customers data.

It is close to impossible to get a good rating unless you crawl on the road. It punishes even if you turn a little fast on narrow roundabouts. As another user mentioned, it penalizes sudden braking even when pedestrians cross the road. Basically instead of driving, I should keep anticipating hurdles. Also the discount they give is much lesser than the benefit they get from our data. An example of how unfair their system is: Before long drive: 83 After long drive:50!!
