After you have taken out the HUK-COBURG or HUK24 telematics tariff and then registered in the “My Car” app, you will receive your telematics sensor sent to your home free of charge. While your smartphone records your journeys, the sensor analyzes your acceleration, braking and steering behavior as well as your speed, from which your overall driving value is determined. The safer and more foresighted you drive, the higher your overall driving value and therefore your individual follow-up bonus will be in the next insurance year.

Ratings and reviews

The app sensitivity is really dangerous. It encourages one to rather cross a red light than to reduce the speed a bit (LITERALLY a bit) harsher than normal because at the end of your trip, you see a huge drop in your bonus. Overall a good bonus is tremendously hard to get and easy to loose. I am not sure if the app has been tested by qualified drivers in roads where they haven't driven there before. I am eager to see their bonuses!!!

The telematics device exhibits inconsistent connectivity and does not reliably record long-distance trips. Furthermore, mild braking often unavoidable in real driving conditions—is frequently classified as harsh braking, resulting in a substantial reduction in the performance score (up to 10%). These issues raise concerns regarding the reliability and validity of the collected data. Users are required to continuously verify whether the device is functioning correctly, even when Bluetooth is on.

The app does not accept correct login details. I use the same details on HUK Coburg's page and I can log normally. In the app I can't.
