ATTENTION: This app can only be used by registered HummelMap detectors from NABU Lower Saxony.
The HummelMap is an online specialist platform for reporting bumblebee occurrences in Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg and was created as part of a project by NABU Lower Saxony. In addition to recording bumblebees as comprehensively as possible, the focus is on protecting them. The HummelMap with a project description can be accessed at https://hummelmap.de.
The app serves as an alternative tool for data collection in the field and therefore does not contain any other functions of the online specialist platform. By downloading offline maps beforehand, recording without a network connection is possible. The data stored in the mobile device will be uploaded as soon as a network is available again.
In order to use this app, you must first create a profile on https://hummelmap.de. The prerequisite for this is the ability to identify the native bumblebee species. Access is only possible by contacting the HummelMap expert forum in advance using an application form.
“HummelMap – the specialist platform for reporting bumblebee occurrences in Lower Saxony” is a project of the NABU Landesverband Niedersachsen e.V. funded by the Lower Saxony Bingo Environmental Foundation (2020 to 2024) and was technically implemented by the software company IP Syscon.
