Old Town Magic – The digital guided tour with augmented reality

Discover the Old Town in an entertaining and interactive way – with Old Town Magic, the digital discovery tour for families, culture lovers and curious visitors to the city.

At the seven most fascinating spots in the Old Town, Ida, the city fairy, appears directly on your smartphone via augmented reality. She becomes part of the real-world surroundings, welcomes visitors and takes them on a magical journey through the city’s history. Along the way, she tells fascinating stories about historic buildings, notable figures and events that continue to shape each location to this day.

The Genius Loci, the ‘spirit of the place’, complements the City Fairy and, if desired, unlocks further layers of information. Anyone wishing to delve deeper into the history of a particular place can discover additional background information, details and historical contexts – entirely at their own pace and in their own way.

There’s plenty to experience in terms of gameplay too: entertaining quiz questions await at every stop. Users collect digital coins for correct answers and for successfully discovering stops. Anyone who finds all the coins unlocks the full ‘Old Town Magic’ experience and can – depending on the tour and what’s on offer – receive attractive surprises or rewards.
