About this app

kovApp - Everything about the Deutschlandticket. From fall 2025 with expanded features (timetable information, ticket purchase, etc.)

Booking a Deutschlandticket - here's how it works:

- Download the kovApp
- Enter your email address
- Set a password
- You will now automatically receive a confirmation email. Confirm your entry by clicking on the link
- Open the kovApp, log in with your email address and password, and book your D-Ticket directly in the app
- Booking is also possible in the app during the current month
- Payment via direct debit (SEPA) or credit card
- Your ticket code will be activated in the app immediately after booking

Already have a D-Ticket with koveb?
- Then you received an email from us with a personal code
- Download the app, open it, and enter the code. Your D-Ticket will now automatically migrate to the new app

GOOD TO KNOW

Can I also open the kovApp offline?
Yes, the code is available even if there is no Wi-Fi or mobile network available.

Does my Deutschlandticket update automatically?
Yes. Unless the contract is canceled, the Deutschlandticket automatically renews for another month. The code in the kovApp is updated automatically.

How does the verification work on buses and trains?
On public transport, your ticket code can be read by staff by scanning it. Please carry photo ID with you, as the D-Ticket is non-transferable and only valid in conjunction with your ID.

Can I also show a screenshot of my QR code?
No. The QR code must be opened via the kovApp. A screenshot is not possible and is not permitted.

What do I do if I change or lose my smartphone?
Your travel authorization is assigned to your customer account. If you lose your smartphone, you can reinstall the kovApp on any other or new smartphone. You can use the code again after logging in with your login details.

What applies to children?
Children under six years old travel free on public transport and don't need a ticket at all. Children over six years old require their own Deutschlandticket – either on their smartphone or as a koveb chip card.

How can I cancel my Deutschlandticket?
You can cancel directly in the app. Cancellation must be received by the 10th of each month, effective at the end of that month (see Terms and Conditions).
