About this app
With the Lernserver app, parents can easily test their child's spelling skills at home and access individually tailored practice material as needed.
The Münster Spelling Analysis (MRA), developed by Prof. Dr. Friedrich Schönweiss and his team at the University of Münster, is successfully used by schools and learning therapists throughout Germany to diagnose and support the reading and spelling abilities of children and adolescents.
The analysis is free for parents via the app!
How does the Lernserver app work?
For the free spelling analysis, a gap-fill dictation is first written (by hand). The dictation is then played back via the app.
Afterward, the completed test sheet can be photographed and sent to the Lernserver team for evaluation via the app. Alternatively, parents can enter their child's spellings directly into the app and thus develop an understanding of their child's main error patterns.
After the evaluation, the Lernserver dashboard shows at a glance where the child stands and how much support is needed. The test results can be easily shared with teachers or tutors via the app.
If needed, comprehensive practice materials tailored to the child's individual needs can then be purchased. The error profile and each individual spelling from the test are analyzed in detail in the background to determine the child's existing skills and where they need support. Based on this analysis, a personalized learning folder is generated.
This folder contains worksheets, explanations, games, word lists, and memory tips, always accompanied by pedagogical background information and helpful suggestions for home practice. This way, parents can also help their child become more confident in reading and writing.
The individual learning modules are clearly listed in the app and can be accessed and checked off one by one. This allows for structured and documented learning progress.
