This is the official audio guide for your visit to the Museum Brandhorst containing all the important information about the museum and its permanent and special exhibitions in German and in English.
Since its opening in 2009, Museum Brandhorst has established itself as a central site for contemporary art in Germany. Behind the spectacular façade, comprising 36,000 ceramic louvres, you can experience and discover outstanding pieces of contemporary art!
The Museum Brandhorst opened as the newest institution of the Bavarian State Painting Collection. It houses the Brandhorst Collection, one of the most prominent collections of contemporary art in Germany.
With works of Pop Art, Minimal Art, Arte Povera, and current positions, essential trends in US and Western European art since the 1960s are represented. The comprehensive collections of works by Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol are unique internationally. International art stars and young, forward-looking positions are united under one roof.
The museum's collection and program represent an in-depth exploration of individual artists and an intensive examination of central issues in contemporary art.
