With the Air Radio Trainer, student pilots can playfully practice VFR radio communication procedures and radio theory (BZF I/II, BZF E, AZF). Whether PPL, LAPL or SPL – the Air Radio Trainer complements your pilot training. No matter what you want to fly: glider, single-engine piston (SEP) aircraft, ultralight (UL), touring motor glider (TMG)...

The app helps you prepare for the practical part of your flight training. The exam for the "Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate for Aeronautical Radio Service" (BZF) is available. However, already qualified pilots and other interested individuals can also refresh and solidify their knowledge of VFR aeronautical radio communication with the Aeronautical Radio Trainer.
Users can simulate arrivals and departures at several German and Austrian commercial airports. Radio communication takes place in either German or English. The simulator's interface is very simple: loud speech is not required! Responding to radio messages spoken by the app is done by assembling pre-defined message modules to ensure correct transmission.
A simulation of radio navigation procedures is also included in the Aeronautical Radio Trainer. Procedures related to both non-directional beacons (NDBs) and rotating beacons (VORs) can be simulated. Five emulations of different navigation instruments are available.
``` The Aviation Radio Trainer also helps with preparation for the theoretical exam. The integrated theory trainer includes the questions published by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) for the German radio operator certificates BZF I and BZF II, BZF E, and AZF. Incorrectly answered questions can be repeated separately, and a mock exam with random questions and a time limit is also available!
Furthermore, the app helps build a vocabulary for communicating in aviation English. A vocabulary trainer is available for this purpose, containing over 100 aviation-related terms.
Functions at a glance:
✓Vehicle radio simulator for VFR procedures (approaches and departures in German and English)
✓Theory trainer with the BNetzA* exam questions
✓Simulation of radio navigation (NDB and VOR)
✓Quiz for practicing the spelling alphabet
✓Vocabulary trainer and vocabulary list with over 100 aviation-related terms
✓ "Dark Mode" for those who prefer to use daylight for flying (on supported devices)
*If radiotelephony rights are acquired through an aviation authority, different question catalogs are used, the content and model answers of which differ from the BNetzA question catalogs.
