Poverty has many faces. Even in a rich city like Stuttgart there are people who don't know how to make ends meet.
The aim of "On Top" is to help people who are not doing well financially
Nevertheless, to enable participation in social life - according to the credo: sharing is real having. On top of that, the aim is to sharpen the view of and awareness of one another, reduce the gulf between rich and poor and offer a simple way of exchanging ideas.

The focus of the association is therefore primarily the protection of financially weak people from isolation. The vision is to make a difference in people's minds and to offer a low-threshold opportunity for mutual neighborly support.
On top of that, we want to create a cityscape and achieve neighborly coexistence in which taking and giving is increasingly becoming a matter of course for everyone.

How does it work?

Based on the idea of ​​“Cafè Sospeso” from Italy, you can not only pay for yourself, you can also buy someone with little money a coffee “on top”.
But on top is not just about coffee: EVERYTHING can be on top:
Services, handicrafts, gastronomy or cultural and educational offers. The “on top glass” is available in the participating shops, into which you can put a free amount or, depending on the situation, be invited to something.

In a society in which the middle class is dissolving more and more and the gap between rich and poor is widening, we see it as our responsibility to counteract these parallel worlds.
Real empathy for the different realities of life can only be developed by sharpening the awareness of one another and sensitizing them to one another.

Obendrauf has been an initiative since 2014 and has become an independent non-profit association since the beginning of 2021.

The currently participating cooperation partners are shown on the map.
There are more and more dedicated shops that share our idea and join in with their various offers.
There is no area in which the top cannot be offered. Whether food, drink, art, culture, handicraft or services - everything can be on top.
