How to use Google Drive Sync:
When you hit the synchronize button the first time, the app creates the file "BBSync.bin" in your Google Drive. The file will be used for further synchronizations. You can move the file to another folder on your Google Drive and share the file with your family members so they can edit it and use it for synchronization too.

The permissions are needed for the ads and the synchronization.

I gave this app 3 stars because it looks promising, unfortunately it seems to be missing a calander mode which is extremely important. Other budget apps could learn a lot from the budget calander app, it's simple but by far the most useful of all the ones I've tried. Also, after entering my first transaction, an ad popped up and I have about 100 transactions between me and my GF to add on a budget app, no way I was going to deal with 100 ads to see if I want to buy the app.

I use to like this app, but latest updates have broken synchronisation. Despite what is stated in the FAQ, both devices are logged into the same Google account, including the Google drive app, but it continually fails with a sign-in error on both devices. I had no issues with previous version. I'm off to find a new app to replace this one.

It's a great app that's very easy to understand. I like that it can be easily customised. But, I'm disappointed that you've removed the "Search Entries" option from the accounts. Can we get that back, please? *Edit: It's much easier to search the accounts than each individual category when checking for mistakes. I usually check each account at the end of each month to ensure that my expenses were taken out of the correct one.
