The EverydayBuddies app was developed within the interdisciplinary research project "DepriBuddy," which lies at the intersection of psychology, sociology, media studies, software development, and social art. The project was funded from 2023 to 2026 by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the "Closeness Over Distance – Enabling Interpersonal Connection with Interactive Technologies" funding program. Its aim was to develop a connection technology specifically for people with low motivation, depression, and difficulties maintaining social contacts.
