Very addictive, its great to be able to jump to different dates/months and see how the rotation of the earth around the sun creates our seasons. The phases of the moon are very well executed. Very nice quality graphics and the option to see different planets is really effective. Also like the ability to explore the surface of some of the planets. Looks like a lot of hard work went into creating this App.

This is a very beautifully made app. Its also very nice to show the effects of the sun onto Earth. A really useful feature would be to show the five great circles on Earth and the two poles for teaching purposes. Also being able to switch between realistic and exaggerated planet and sun sizes would be great.

Beautiful looking app, however the planets, besides earth, are not rotating. Is this on purpose, is there something wrong in my system or is there something I fundamentally do not understand about our solar system?

Hi, thank you for using Orrery! This is indeed intended as the app closely simulates a vintage orrery and it's inner workings. Most of those devices didn't model rotation for any celestial bodies but earth. If you take a close look at the brass mechanism below our blue marble, you can actually see the gears doing their work.
