About this app

BIQEmonitor stands for Bicycle Infrastructure Quality Evaluation Monitor and is an application for recording and evaluating the local cycling infrastructure. By activating the app before your bike ride and then carrying it with you, you record vibrations during your ride, which the BIQEmonitor then evaluates afterwards for an automatic evaluation of riding comfort. Both an external sensor connected via Bluetooth and the sensor built into the smartphone can be used to record the vibrations. The external sensors are provided by the INFRASense project team as part of the field tests.

The BIQEmonitor is being developed as part of the INFRASense (https://www.infrasense.de) research project. The project is funded by the BMDV in the mFUND innovation initiative (https://bmdv.bund.de/DE/Themen/Digitales/mFund/Ueberblick/ueberblick.html).
