Color Gear is a useful colour tool that helps to create harmonious color palettes. To find the right colour palette, designers and artists use color theory and the basis of it: colour wheel and harmony. You don't need to be a colour expert in order to use this app – Color Gear is a user-friendly application suitable for beginners and pros. The perfect app for understanding color theory and daily working with palettes.

Use color wheel that suits your needs
Our app supports two colour models — RGB Color Wheel (Additive model) and RYB Color Wheel (Subtractive model). RGB (the primary colours are Red, Green, Blue) is used to create colours in digital media. The RYB color model (the primary colours are Red, Yellow, Blue) relates specifically to colour in the form of paint and pigment application in art and design. For both RGB and RYB Color wheel (Itten circle) you can apply one of the 10 plus colour schemes.

Build colour palettes based on the added colour code
Just type in the color name (HEX code) and discover different colour harmonies matching this particular colour.

Extract colour palette from Photo
This feature will turn your photos into colour palettes! Select the desired picture from your phone and the application's algorithms will automatically obtain the color palette from the image. Also you can manually pick specific colours from the photo with the Colour Picker tool (color grab). Then you can Select desired colours and save the palette. Copy a particular HEX colour code under color swatch to the clipboard and Paste it in the first Tab (RGB) - in this case you will discover different color harmonies matching your particular colour from the image.

Save the Palette of picture along with the Image
This feature gives an ability to Create a Collage. Choose a layout, place the palette on the image and Share it on social media or via messenger, or save it.

Advanced colour editing tool
It is very important to balance the quantitative ratio of colour in order to make your palette look harmonious in practice. You can quickly mix colours in the images: there are 3 pictures and gradient in the palette editing mode and you can see how the selected colours look in different ratios. By clicking on the particular colour swatch you can easily edit the colour values (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) with precision.

Easy to manage and share
Easily Save, Share, Remove and Edit already saved palettes. To open the menu just Swipe left your saved palette. You can always copy a particular colour code under color swatches to the clipboard. Six colour formats available in palette info (RGB, HEX, LAB, HSV, HSL, CMYK).

Two color circles – RGB and RYB, 10+ colour harmony schemes, option to enter a color code (HEX code input), get a colour palette from photo or image, Colour Picker tool (color finder) and an ability to save the palette along with the image. All these tools are always at hand in one application that works offline! Create harmonious palettes with ease.

This app is so helpful and exceeded my expectations. It does a fantastic job of pulling the colors from the photos and I love that I can actually see how the colors will look when touching (other color palletes lack this). This has helped so much with my art, and makes it so much easier to get the color combos I want. Thanks for making an app so wonderful!

This app is very promising, but needs improvement. It would be helpful if you implemented various palette sizes, often the one given does not include enough colors. The ability to pick out colors from user defined locations in an image would be helpful as well. The ability to export a palette to an image file would be nice. I'd also like to see themes for the app, possibly using generated palettes. Otherwise, very helpful. Nice work.

I'm a total noob who jumped head first into painting 28 mm modern military miniatures. Without an artistic bone in my body I often need help when it comes to colors. The app is super easy to use and that's important to me. I like to open it up while watching TV or a movie and just play. I always end up with at least 1 or 2 custom palettes that I end up using on my figures. I'm glad I made the purchase.
