Wi-Fi Analyzer: Signal Scan gives you a real-time picture of every Wi-Fi network around you—no hardware analyzer or subscription needed. Three focused tabs cover live signal monitoring, channel planning, and coverage surveying, all with data that stays on your device.
── SIGNAL — KNOW YOUR LINK AT A GLANCE ──
Stay on the Signal tab and watch RSSI plotted live on a scrollable timeline chart. Reference lines at −50, −60, and −70 dBm let you instantly rate your connection: Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor. SSID, BSSID, channel, frequency band, and link speed are shown in one compact view. Tap any field to copy it to the clipboard.
Enable Background RSSI Logging to keep sampling as you walk around. A low-priority notification shows the current dBm value without keeping the app in the foreground. Sampling interval is configurable in Settings.
A home screen widget displays RSSI and channel on your launcher, updating automatically while connected.
── CHANNELS — FIND THE QUIETEST CHANNEL ──
Tap Scan to discover every access point in range across 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz. Android limits scans to about four per two minutes; the app shows a cooldown timer and keeps last results available between scans.
For each AP: SSID, BSSID, signal in dBm, channel, band, security type (WPA3/WPA2/WPA/WEP/Open), Wi-Fi standard (802.11n/ac/ax/be), vendor lookup, and estimated distance.
Three views:
• Bars — sorted list for quick RSSI comparison
• Grid — channel occupancy map; tap any channel to filter APs and see every overlapping network
• Spectrum — frequency-domain view that makes interference visible at a glance
After each scan, Channel Advisor recommends the least-congested channel per band: non-overlapping 1/6/11 for 2.4 GHz, and the quietest option for 5 GHz and 6 GHz.
Scan History saves every batch automatically. Compare any two batches side by side to track APs that appeared, disappeared, or changed signal strength. Filter by band, security type, or SSID/BSSID keyword. Sort by RSSI, SSID, or channel.
── LOG — SURVEY, ROAM, EXPORT ──
SURVEY POINTS
Walk through any space and record labeled signal snapshots. Each survey point stores label, SSID, BSSID, RSSI, channel, timestamp, and an optional note. Export as CSV to paste into Excel or share with your IT team—ideal for coverage audits and dead-zone mapping across floors or rooms.
ROAMING EVENTS
When your device switches BSSIDs, the app logs source MAC, destination MAC, and timestamp automatically. Use this log to verify your mesh network or enterprise Wi-Fi is roaming you to the correct AP.
EXPORT & SHARE
• Plain text report — current link, RSSI samples, last scan, roaming events, and all survey points
• CSV — structured data ready for spreadsheet analysis
Records stay on device until you share or delete them. Clear items by swiping or reset categories in Settings → Data management.
── PRIVACY ──
All analysis runs on-device. No data is sent to external servers. No accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics or advertising SDKs. Your data only leaves your phone when you explicitly export and choose a destination yourself.
Location permission is required by Android to read Wi-Fi scan results and SSIDs. Your geographic location is never recorded or transmitted.
── SETTINGS ──
• RSSI sampling interval (every N seconds)
• Background RSSI logging toggle
• Theme: System / Light / Dark
• Dynamic color (Material You palette, Android 12+)
• Data management: clear RSSI samples, roaming log, survey points, or scan cache independently
── NOTE ──
This app reads from the Android Wi-Fi API and is not a hardware spectrum analyzer. Scan frequency is limited by Android. RSSI values reflect what the radio driver reports and may differ from dedicated RF equipment.
