Hooterm is a native SSH client for Android phones and tablets.
Connect to your own servers with a password or a private key, keep several live terminal sessions open, browse remote files over SFTP, forward ports, route through jump hosts and run saved snippets. Sign in, and your servers, keys and snippets stay in one end-to-end encrypted workspace shared with Hooterm on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Or use it without an account: everything stays on the device.
TERMINAL
• Sessions stay open while you move between servers and keep running in the background.
• A row of the keys a phone keyboard lacks — esc, tab, ctrl, alt, arrows, F-keys and more. Reorder it to fit how you work.
• A panel in place of the keyboard for keys, snippets, command history and themes.
• Paste the saved password of the server with one tap when sudo asks for it.
• Nine themes that colour the whole session, nine typefaces, pinch to resize. The terminal goes light and dark with the system.
• Find in the output.
SERVERS
• Groups with environment labels, so production never looks like staging.
• Import from ~/.ssh/config and from a Termius export.
• Jump hosts, local, remote and dynamic port forwarding.
• On tablets and unfolded phones: servers beside their details, sessions beside the terminal.
FILES
• An SFTP browser for every open session: upload, download, edit, rename, copy, move and delete.
SECURITY
• SSH credentials are kept in a vault encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore.
• A changed server key is never accepted silently: you see the old and the new fingerprint and decide.
• Your fingerprint, face or screen lock can lock the app, and its contents are hidden in the recent apps screen.
• Encrypted sync keeps readable vault contents off Hooterm servers. A vault password and a recovery code open the vault on a new device; you approve and revoke devices yourself.
• Encrypted backup to a file you keep.
