About this app

Flipo turns vocabulary into a habit that sticks. Swipe through flashcards for a few minutes a day and let the scheduler decide what you see and when.

Every word gets an AI-written translation, an example sentence, and its own small illustration, so instead of a flat word-pair you get context you can picture. Flipo tracks how well you actually know each word and schedules the next review with FSRS — the modern spaced-repetition algorithm that Anki itself moved to. Words you know come back in weeks or months. Words you're shaky on come back tomorrow.

STUDY THAT CHANGES AS YOU IMPROVE

A new word starts simple: see it, hear it, flip for a hint. As it matures, Flipo varies the exercise so you're not just recognising the same printed word over and over — listen to it with the spelling hidden, produce it from the translation, or fill it into a gapped sentence. The illustration steps aside once you no longer need the crutch. A session can end with a quick multiple-choice quiz, and when you have spare time, review ahead brings tomorrow's words in today.

TALK TO THE AI TUTOR

The built-in AI Tutor knows exactly which words you're studying. Ask for a short story that uses them, practise a dialogue, or run quick tap-to-answer training rounds — and when you slip, it explains the mistake in your language. Sign in to chat.

KNOW WHERE YOU STAND

Take the built-in vocabulary assessment and get an A1-C2 estimate of how many words you actually recognise, with a history of every attempt so you can see the trend. The test itself runs fully offline. If you sign in, your results sync across your devices like the rest of your progress.

WORDS FROM ANYWHERE

- Ready-made collections by CEFR level, topic, idioms, and phrasal verbs
- A community catalogue of collections published by other learners, all reviewed before they appear
- Add your own words by hand, import from Markdown, or send them straight from any other app with Share
- Grammar articles with search, tags, and favourites

LEARN TOGETHER

- Add friends by invite link and see how they're doing on your dashboard
- Teachers can create a class, share collections with students, build tests, and follow each student's progress word by word
- Share any of your own lists with a link

STAY ON TRACK

- A daily goal, a weekly streak, and a session score that rewards clean recall
- A Word of the Day on your dashboard, explained in your language
- Detailed statistics on what you've learned and what's still fragile
- A home screen widget that rotates a new word, translation, and example through the day
- Reminders timed around when you actually study
- Pronunciation for every word

YOURS, AND OPTIONAL TO SYNC

Studying works fully offline — your words and progress live on your device. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want them synced across devices. You can delete your account, and everything synced with it, from inside the app.

Choose the language you're learning, your native language, and a starting level — Flipo builds your first list for you. After that it's a few minutes a day: swipe, learn, repeat.

Flipo supports learning English, Ukrainian, and German. The interface is available in English and Ukrainian.

What’s new

35 new English decks — business, finance, academics, travel, science and word building.
Filters now open by category, so finding the right deck or article takes a couple of taps.
Tips after a training session appear one at a time instead of all at once.
Synonym cards now say exactly what they're asking for, and adding a word puts the cursor right where you type.
Faster startup, plus fixes to word content and to account switching.
