About this app

Shadow GPS is a mock location app and GPS route simulator for Android. Tap out a route on the map, choose a speed, and Shadow GPS moves your device's reported location along it — so you can test navigation, fitness, delivery and other location-based apps without leaving your desk.

How it works
• Tap the map to place waypoints, or search for any address or place
• Press Start and watch the position marker travel your route in real time
• Pause, resume or stop at any point, and adjust speed as you go
• Place a single pin to hold a fixed location for as long as you need

Shadow GPS uses Android's official mock location feature. Location is sent through both the system location manager and Google Play services, so apps that use either receive a steady, consistent position with speed, bearing and altitude.

Setup
Mock location requires a one-time device setup:
1. Enable Developer Options (Settings → About phone → tap Build number 7 times)
2. In Developer Options, choose Shadow GPS as the mock location app
3. Allow location permission and notifications
4. Allow unrestricted battery use so emulation keeps running in the background

The in-app Setup Status screen walks you through each step.

Privacy
Your routes and settings stay on your device. Map tiles and place search are provided by OpenStreetMap. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, subject to your consent choices.
