Photok is a free and open-source gallery app for Android.
Imported media files are encrypted on the device using AES-256 and only decrypted in memory when using the app.
This makes Photok different from other encrypted gallery apps.

Photok is completely free, open source, and ad-free. It is developed as a hobby by me (Leon) and public volunteers.

Loved Photok until this most recent update requiring "migration" made it literally unusable. It's unable to verify any Photok backups I made. All my photos were saved there, and now they're unaccessible. The app does the "verifying backup" screen for about 10 seconds and then the whole app closes itself out. Made sure I'm on the most recent version, restarted my device twice, even tried deleting the app & reinstalling. Nothing works. Please help! why did you go and break a working app? 😭

The app works relatively fine. I like the album feature, the fact it's actually encrypted and easy to use. What I don't like: Videos don't autoplay and there is no option to make them loop. By far the biggest issue is the fact the backup feature doesn't even work. It just crashes the app when attempting to restore a backup causing some pretty bad data loss. I'm aware it's complex, but why even have it if it only works sometimes?

Leon - I'll change this back to 5 stars but I needed your attention. LOVE THE APP, perfect, but I switched to the dialer access, entered my preferred pin and now when I enter the series of commands it told me to, I get a message that says "unable to process the request". I didn't lose the password, I remember it, but it seems a bug is preventing the program from launching altogether. Yes the PIN is correct and I used the correct characters before and after to summon this. HELP! ALL MY PHOTOS 😭
