About this app

FaceSpeak is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app for people who cannot easily speak or use their hands. Assign a phrase to each facial gesture and your phone says it out loud as soon as it sees it. No touching the screen, no internet needed.

✦ 19 GESTURES
Smile, left, right or both-eye blink, double and triple blink, long blink, nod, head shake, head tilt or turn, open mouth, raised eyebrow, held smile, or smile and nod together.

✦ READY TO USE
Comes with basic phrases (Yes, No, Help, I'm happy, I'm hungry) so communication can start right away. Change them, add your own and organise them into categories.

✦ HANDS-FREE SETUP
On first launch, a guided camera calibration checks that everything works without touching anything.

✦ ADAPTS TO EACH PERSON
Adjustable sensitivity per gesture, a pause between phrases to avoid repeats, voice speed and pitch, and an emergency phrase that is always spoken instantly.

✦ CHOOSE THE VOICE
Use any voice installed on the phone, in any language, even if it differs from the system language.

✦ BACKUP
Export and import your gestures and phrases as a file so you keep your setup when you change phones.

✦ PRIVACY
The camera is analysed on the phone itself. No image or face data is stored or sent over the internet. No accounts, no sign-up.
