Formatka plans how to cut furniture parts out of standard sheets of chipboard, plywood or MDF.
Type in your parts: the width, the height and how many of each. Choose the sheet and the kerf of your saw. Formatka lays the parts out over as many sheets as it takes and shows you:
- how many sheets to buy
- how much of them is waste
- a numbered diagram of every sheet
- the cuts, one at a time, in the order to make them
Cuts you can really make
Every cut runs straight across the panel from edge to edge, the way a panel saw or a track saw cuts. The kerf is taken off at every cut, so parts come out at the size you typed.
The sequence in words
Each step names the panel in your hands, where to measure, which way to cut and what you get. You do not have to read it off a drawing at the saw.
Sheets and kerf
Three common sheet sizes are one tap away: 2800 × 2070, 2750 × 1830 and 2440 × 1220 mm. Any other size can be typed. The kerf is 2.2, 3.2 or 4.0 mm, or your own. The app remembers your list, your sheet and your kerf.
What it does not do
Parts are not turned: each is placed the way you typed it, so the grain or the pattern keeps its direction. One sheet size per project. Millimetres only. Up to 50 rows and 500 pieces. A part that does not fit the sheet is reported, not dropped.
