About this app

One Thing keeps one note in front of you. It is a sticky note on your lock screen, a note widget on your home screen and a pinned notification, so you see it each time you pick up your phone. No lists to sort. When it is done, tap Done.

Write the one thing that matters today. Give the cat her snack. Water the plants. Call back about the bike. It stays in sight until you mark it done.

WHERE YOUR NOTE SHOWS
• Lock screen: a quiet pinned notification keeps your note on the lock screen.
• Wallpaper: a live wallpaper shows your note in big text, on a plain color or your own photo.
• Home screen: a notes widget shows your note. You can resize it.
• Notification shade: pin a note to your notifications, with Done right on it.
• Quick Settings: a tile takes you to your note.
• Share: send text from any app to One Thing.

MARK IT DONE WITHOUT OPENING THE APP
Tap Done on the pinned note. A small stamp, such as "Done, 8:14", stays until the next morning. Change your mind? Undo is right there.

START SMALL
Tap 2 min on the pinned note to start a short focus session. Or tap Focus in the app and pick your own time. The focus timer stays in your notifications. On newer Android phones it also shows in the status bar.

A NOTE FOR EVERY DAY
Mark a note Every day and it comes back each morning after you mark it done. Stretch. Give the dog a treat. Make the bed.

KEEP SEEING IT
Living note changes the place and color of your note on the wallpaper now and then, so it does not fade into the background. The words stay the same. You can turn it off.

A SMALL DAILY RITUAL, IF YOU WANT ONE
One Thing can ask for your one thing each morning and check in each evening. It is off until you turn it on. Streaks are hidden unless you choose to see them.

A QUIET REMINDER, NOT AN ALARM
One Thing works as a reminder on your lock screen that you see, not an alarm that rings. Your note is simply there each time you look.

YOUR NOTES STAY ON YOUR PHONE
No account. No ads. No analytics. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send your notes anywhere. Back up to a file you choose, and bring it back when you need to.

Anyone who sees your phone can read your note, so keep that in mind when you write it.

GOOD TO KNOW
Some phones, such as Xiaomi, may put live wallpapers on the home screen only. The pinned note still shows on the lock screen if your phone allows notifications there.

One Thing is a simple note for one task at a time. It shows what you wrote and what you tapped, and nothing more.
