Short-form Blocker is an app that helps you automatically exit short-form content screens like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. You can still use essential features like Search, DMs, and your profile.

Key Features

• Block by App: YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels (select official home feed handling), TikTok (all apps)

• Exit Immediately or ‘Pause’ Screen: Take a breath and choose whether to stop watching

• Allow Briefly: Allow for 5–30 minutes after a brief wait, with a daily limit

• Daily Allowance: View only for the time set per app and block the rest

• Schedule: Block only on set days and times

• Strict Mode: Wait 30 seconds for changes to reduce the block

• Statistics: Blocking history and distribution by time of day for the last 7 and 30 days

• Quick Settings tile and Home Screen widget, Dark Mode, Korean and English

Accessibility Service Guide

This app uses the Android AccessibilityService API. You must agree to the in-app usage guidelines and enable the service manually in your system settings for it to function. It checks the UI identifiers and display/selection status of YouTube and Instagram on your device; it performs a back action in Instagram Reels opened separately from YouTube Shorts. In the official version of Instagram, it switches to the Search tab in the Home and Reels tabs, and to the left Feed tab in the main For You section of the beta version. Since TikTok is entirely short-form content, it does not read the screen structure and moves to the Home screen. If the tab is unclear, it leaves the screen as is. You can turn it off at any time via the app's toggle or Android accessibility settings.

It does not read or save screen text, video titles, comments, DMs, or input, nor does it transmit them to a server. It only saves settings and blocking history on the device. There are no internet permissions, ads, sign-ups, billing, or analytics SDKs.

Note

Depending on the target app version and device, it may fail to detect or mis-detect. Since it responds after entering the screen, video or sound may play briefly. Complete blocking is not guaranteed.
