About this app

Nur is a calm, beautiful way to read, listen to and memorize the Qur’an.

READ
• The full 604-page Quran, laid out page for page as in print
• Swipe between pages like a printed Quran, or switch to vertical scrolling
• Glide to any page with the slider, or jump by surah, juz or verse (type 2:255)
• Press and hold any verse for its translation, tafsir and more
• Light, Dark and Black themes

LISTEN
• Stream recitations by various reciters
• Each verse lights up as it is recited, with its translation beneath
• Repeat a verse or a whole passage, change the speed, play to the end of a page, juz or surah
• Keeps playing in the background, with notification controls
• Save surahs for offline listening. Al-Fatihah and Juz ‘Amma are always free to save

STUDY
• English translations
• Study tafsirs
• Similar verses: see where a phrase appears elsewhere in the Qur’an
• Surah details: place of revelation, verse count and starting page
• Ten colored bookmarks you can name

MEMORIZE
• Pick the verses you want to learn
• Nur hides the text. Recite from memory, then rate yourself
• Each passage returns just before you would forget it

BUILD A HABIT
• Set a daily page goal and keep your streak
• A gentle daily reminder

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account. No ads
• Your bookmarks, plan and progress stay on your device

NUR PLUS (optional subscription)
