NEXUS is a modern cyberpunk hacking simulator inspired by classics like Uplink and Hacknet. Take on contracts from anonymous handlers, megacorp rivals, and underworld syndicates. Build bounce routes through relay nodes, breach firewalls, steal or delete sensitive files, transfer funds from corporate vaults — and disconnect before the trace catches up.

CORE LOOP
• Accept contracts from 4 factions (ANON, CORPORATE, SYNDICATE, INDIE) — your reputation with each shapes which jobs come your way
• Build multi-hop bounce routes through relay servers — more hops = slower trace
• Run tools (Recon, Firewall Bypass, Password Breaker, File Copier, Log Deleter, Backdoor Installer) — tool tier + CPU speed determines crack time
• Watch the trace meter — fill it and you're caught; disconnect in time and you walk away with the payout
• 4 mission archetypes: Steal File, Delete File, Install Backdoor, Bank Transfer

PROGRESSION
• Skylink rating climbs with every clean contract — higher tier unlocks harder, better-paying jobs
• Hardware shop: faster CPUs, more bandwidth, more RAM = more concurrent tools
• Software shop: tool version upgrades = faster cracks
• Per-faction reputation: high rep = more contracts from that bloc, low rep = they stop calling
• Achievements system: 12+ unlockables for ghost-runs, perfect-log streaks, no-trace completions
• Daily login streak: 7-day tier table rewards up to 1500cr/day at peak
