Notewell — Teacher Notes

About this app

Notice something during class? Write it down in seconds, and never lose it.

Notewell is an observation notebook for teachers. Jot what you see — a breakthrough, a struggle, a kind moment — tag it, and get back to teaching. When report cards come round, every note about every student is already there, by date, ready to search.

SEE WHO YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED
Each class shows how many students you've observed this week, and lists the ones you haven't noted lately first — so the quiet ones don't slip through.

CAPTURE IN SECONDS
• Pick students and tags with one tap each
• Notes about a group appear on every student's timeline
• Undo straight after saving or deleting
• Your own tags for each class

FIND ANYTHING — EVEN WITHOUT THE RIGHT WORDS
Search by meaning: "calm down" finds the note where a student took three deep breaths. Open any note's Similar notes to see who else did something like it. It all runs on your phone, offline. Each student's timeline is grouped by day and filters by tag.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Notewell has no internet permission: it cannot send your notes anywhere
• Everything is stored in an encrypted database on your phone
• Optional lock with your fingerprint, face or phone PIN
• No account, no ads, no tracking

YOUR BACKUP, YOUR CHOICE
Because nothing leaves your phone, a backup is the only copy if the phone is
lost. Notewell makes one file, encrypted with a passphrase you choose, and
saves it wherever you pick. Restoring adds what's missing and never
overwrites a note.

Built for teachers whose school asks that student information stays off unapproved cloud services.

What’s new

Faster: screens open without delay. If something goes wrong, Notewell now recovers instead of closing, and you can send a problem report from Settings — it never includes your notes.
