About this app

Edgars is a practice companion for solo gigging musicians. It answers the question every practice session starts with — what should I play next? — in about three seconds, and it makes every answer honest.

Your repertoire lives in the Library as Songs. Each day the Dashboard offers five, ranked by a rule you can read in full inside the app: Songs on a Gig's Setlist come first, nearest Target Date first; then the lowest Weighted Scores, ties by oldest Last Practiced. Nothing is hidden.

The heart of Edgars is one Loop: play, record, listen, rate. Every performance is rated twice — a Felt Rating in the moment, and a Verified Rating after listening back, with the Verified Rating
counting double. Ears lie mid-performance; the Recording doesn't.

• Dashboard — five Songs offered for today, each showing the detail behind its position.
• The Loop — play → record → rate felt → listen → rate verified.
• Weighted Score — (Felt Rating + 2 × Verified Rating) ÷ 3 from the latest Practice Event; above 4 is gig-ready.
• Gigs and Setlists — a Gig's Target Date surfaces its Setlist Songs until the date passes.
• Queue and Quiet Sessions — Recordings waiting for a Verified Rating, with no badge, no count, no nagging.
• Journal — the chronological log of Practice Events, plus a weekly review.
• Recordings stay on your phone and expire automatically after the retention period you choose: 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month. The default is 1 week.

Free at launch: no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no promo mechanics.

Everything stays on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no server: Songs, Practice Events, and Recordings never leave the device, and every feature works offline.

Edgars never grades your tone, pitch, or timing — it does not listen that way. The honest mirror is you, listening back.
What should I play next? Honest practice for solo gigging musicians.

What’s new

• Recordings can now be copied out to a folder you choose: save a copy from the Queue's listen + verify, a Song's history, or the Journal.
• Settings gains an Export section: choose a folder, set Artist, Album, and Cover, export all now, or turn on Auto-export for new Recordings (off by default).
• Copies are .m4a files tagged with the Song title and your Artist, Album, and Cover; they're yours — the app never deletes or uploads them.
• The launcher icon now sits on a lavender field.
