About this app

RekoSled is an interactive application that allows you to contribute to the research and conservation of rivers. Every walk along a river can become a valuable contribution to nature. Rivers are affected by numerous transversal barriers and lateral barriers. These barriers obstruct the migration of fish and other organisms, interrupt sediment transport, and negatively affect the connectivity of river ecosystems and groundwater levels. With the RekoSled application, we record transversal and lateral barriers, removed riparian vegetation, and fish spawning sites.
When you come across a river barrier, removed riparian vegetation, or a fish spawning site, you can easily record it using the app. Your record is immediately saved to the shared database and becomes part of the online River Atlas, where you can view a map of all confirmed records.
In this way, you directly contribute to a better understanding of rivers and to the preservation of their connectivity.
