About this app

Open source application:
https://github.com/zemua/ColdTurkeyYourself

Specify which applications installed on your phone are productive/positive or on the other hand are leisure/negative.

Time Turkey will track the time you spend on productive applications, like working in a text editor or reading learning books, and you'll earn "points" for it.

You can then use these "points" to spend time on entertainment applications, such as browsing social networks or watching movies.

Time Turkey will track idle time and subtract "points", when the points reach zero and you try to use an idle app Time Turkey will lock that app so you can get back to work.

Time Turkey allows you to customize how much time you have to spend working to get 1 minute of leisure. For example, you can establish that you need to work 4 minutes to get 1 minute of leisure.

For those moments of weakness, the app allows you to set a timeout to confirm a "sensitive settings" change, such as removing an app from the "idle apps" list, giving you a chance to think twice.

The app also allows you to set a "curfew" time, during which idle apps will be blocked regardless of how many points you have accumulated, and positive apps will stop earning points. This functionality is designed to leave the phone at night and respect the time to go to sleep.

Time Turkey is still in its infancy and does not have a centralized synchronization service, for now it allows you to import and export usage times to/from .txt files within your own phone or tablet. These files allow you to sync with other devices through third-party services, such as the open source SyncThing application. The .txt file must contain only a time value in milliseconds (positive or negative) to work correctly.

For this synchronization you can import .txt files generated by Time Turkey from other Android devices. To sync with your computer, there is an Ubuntu and Mac compatible app available which you can find here:
https://github.com/zemua/TurkeyDesktop

It doesn't work with Windows at the moment.

We are working to be able to sync devices directly with the cloud.
